Please note that this list is by no means
definitive! While I have striven to discover all high ranking Blogger
powered sites by searching through Technorati, Wikio Blogs, Bloglines,
and any other blog list I could find, I may have missed some Blogger
powered sites out.
Also, the scores I have given each blog were
correct at the time of writing up this article (20th May 2008). The
present scores may have changed slightly, especially the Technorati
ranking (which updates every few hours), so please understand that the
actual ranking may have changed, especially as time goes on).
I do
welcome any suggestions for how this Top 50 list could be improved, or
if you could suggest any sites which I may have missed that you feel
should be included in this list.
You can download the Excel spreadsheet
which I have used to gather data for and score the blogs on this list
(plus a few others which didn't quite make it to the top 50).
Each blog was given a score out of 100 using the following formulas:
Google Pagerank: 10%, scored from 0-10 using the actual PR
Technorati Rank: 30%, scored from 0-30 by allotting each rank to a particular score, eg: 1-100, 101-500, 501-1000 etc.
Bloglines subscribers: 20%, scored from 0-20 by allotting the number
of subscribers to a score, eg: 10000+, 5000-9999, 3000-4999, etc.
Google Backlinks: 20%, scored from 0-20 by allotting the number of
backlinks to a score, eg: 20000+, 15000-19999, 12000-14999, etc.
Alexa rank: 20%, scored from 0-10 by allotting the Alexa rank to a score, eg: 0-25K, 25-50k, 50-100k, etc.
For those who are interested to learn more about the scoring system I have used, take a look at the full breakdown for all five factors.
In cases where blogs had the same scores, I have used the actual Technorati rank to determine which blog ranked higher.
so, this is a calculation of top viewed and popular blogs...
Blogger Adds Advanced Webmaster Features as below...
you can edit the description meta tag without editing the template. If
you edit the description meta tag for the entire blog, you can also
write descriptions for your blog posts.
Blogger blogs are no longer that limited. After adding support for static pages and favicons, Blogger added some new advanced features to the "search preferences" section of the settings page.
This is useful because Google's snippets sometimes rely on this meta tag.
For the first time you can create a custom 404 error page for a Blogger
blog without buying a domain. Just "enter an HTML message that will be
displayed on the Page Not Found page instead of the generic message."
Google has some tips for creating useful 404 pages and there's even a widget powered by Google search that shows related links and a search box with appropriate search suggestions.
There are also options for customizing the robots.txt page and robots header tags.
It's probably a good idea to use Blogger's robots.txt page as a
template (http://yourblog.blogspot.com/robots.txt) and only add some new
pages you want to be ignored by search engines.
Every day, millions of people turn to Google Maps for Android for free, voice-guided GPS navigation
to guide them to their destination. So far, Navigation on Google Maps
for Android has provided 50 billion kilometers of turn-by-turn
directions
10 trips to Neptune or 0.005 light years! When getting to your
destination matters most, Google Maps for Android will get you there
A new look for Navigation on Android 4.0+ phones
In today’s release of Google Maps 6.5 for Android we’ve redesigned the Navigation home screen in Android 4.0+ to make it easier to enter a new destination or select from recent and favorite locations by swiping left or right.

Crisper, faster maps for high pixel density devices
If your device has a high pixel density screen, such as those on Galaxy
Nexus, Galaxy S II, Droid Razr and others, you’ll now get higher
resolution map tiles that take better advantage of the pixels-per-inch
on your screen. The result is a crisper, less cluttered map that is
easier to read:
Left: Previous style Right:New style in Google Maps 6.5 for Android
Compare our new map on the right to the previous map on the left. The
road network is easier to see, less obstructed by labels, and has more
color contrast. At more zoomed-in levels, you’ll notice a more
controlled amount of maps labels to avoid cluttering the map and
blocking out street names. The new style also helps maps react faster to
panning, zooming and twisting.
You'll start seeing the new style as you navigate around new areas on
the map; however, you can see these changes immediately by clearing your
cache from the Maps settings.
Pick your preferred public transit mode and route option Google Maps 6.5 for Android
now lets you choose to prioritize a particular transit mode (such as
the bus or subway) and route option (like taking the recommended route,
one with fewer transfers or one with less walking). Whether you just
need to get somewhere as fast as possible, or you want to avoid the risk
of a missed connection or you prefer not to tire your legs, you can get
the transit directions that best suit you. Transit directions and
schedules are available for 475 cities around the world.

When Angry Birds was slingshot onto
smartphones all over the world in 2009, the game became synonymous with
addiction. The excitement of flinging an assortment of birds at a bunch
of pigs hiding in some strangely designed structure was at first
unfathomable yet exciting.
Two versions later (Angry Birds Seasons and Angry Birds Rio),
the Angry Birds franchise has tried to maintain some freshness with
variations in levels and the addition of some new birds to fling at
foes.
